Over the 20 years we’ve been operating, we’ve contributed to landmark developments and civil engineering projects in Omaha, Wellsford, Leigh, Pakiri, Matakana, Mahurangi West, Puhoi and Orewa. We’ve created subdivisions in Warkworth, developed “The Grange”, a commercial complex on SH1 on the way into Warkworth and we’ve worked on the construction of the new Snells Beach Primary School.

CEO – Chris Drinnan
Owner, operator Chris Drinnan is the CEO – chief excavating officer – at Drinnan Contractors Chris began drainlaying and earthmoving when he left school, a few years ago now, and has since built a reputation in and around Warkworth for excellence as a leading digger operator and drainlayer. He’s into sport and is a member of the Mahurangi Rugby Team and the Warkworth and Wellsford Squash Clubs. He also enjoys getting out and riding his beloved Harleys.
Jason
Our foreman and main digger driver, Jason is a very skilled and highly experienced digger driver and handler. Fast and reliable, all his work is of a very high standard. When not on the machines, Jason is a hard-core pig hunter and he and his team of dogs often go bush.
Kyle
Kyle started with us as a 19-year-old apprentice. He has now moved on to working on the machinery and getting his HT licence. As is fairly typical of young blokes his age, he’s pretty keen on both cars and socialising.
Roger
You’d be hard-pressed to get a better truck and trailer driver. Roger is a guru and driving is in the blood. Having followed in his father’s tracks, he can get our vehicles virtually anywhere and knows how to leave a mean metal trail.
Dave
To call Dave a Jack of all trades, master of none is actually not fair at all, even though we do. This bloke is multi-skilled, and we rely on him to do just about everything, from driving trucks, rollers, dumpers and diggers to labouring. When not busy doing all we ask of him, Dave will be out on the water; he’s a mad keen fisherman.
Derek
A very skilled digger driver, Derek knows how to create a very tidy house site. A local family man, in the weekends, Derek loves being busy with his partner and children.
